Man Killed Holding Fiancée's
Purse, Wasn't Gay.
August 7,
2001: Things aren't always as they
look. On one arm a purse the other on
a man's shoulder, this scene
got a man killed. Taunted with anti-gay slurs, then shot
to death, because he was
thought to be gay. He wasn't, he was holding his fiancée's
purse and was helping a blind
friend to the restroom when he was shot. His fiancée
describes events of the
shooting and blind friend feel it's
his fault.

Fred Martinez Jr., has
suffered a great loss.
Her son, the victim of a
deadly Anti-GLBT Hate Crime,

2001: A Reno, Nevada teacher was
fired after spotted selling crafts from a booth
by two students and one girl's
mother. By her presence at the Palm Springs White Party Pride
Celebrations, she brings her
sexual orientation into the public,
thus reason to
be fired. Her

Rights Ordinance has come
under scrutiny. The Miami-Dade State Attorney's office
launched an investigation and
the FDLE seized the petition. Both are looking into the
allegations
Two San Antonio Park Rangers
Accused of Beating and Calling Two Men Canadian
Faggot's.
August 1,
2001: Two Toronto area men have accused two
park rangers of beating, calling them queers
and Canadian Faggots, along with
violating their civil rights. The two rangers
have a history of violence
and of civil
rights violations. The FBI is now
looking into the case. The men have
stated they are not gay.
