assignment. Bridgette shows a wonderful view on inclusiveness that was so special, I had
to share this with you all. When things are so difficult for GLBT's, it's a godsend to see

Survey: H.S. Seniors Polled Found Attitudes Pro-Gay, But, Hostile Environment for Gay
Students Exists Throughout U.S. Schools.
August 28, 2001: Recent survey of 1000 seniors show they have liberal pro-gay opinions on many
issues. This being the good news, it doesn't make the bad news easy to swallow. Gay students still
must deal with a hostile environment in schools all across America. These three articles cover results

Sailor Thrown out of Navy for Being Gay has Poem in Smithsonian Exhibit
August 27, 2001: Washington: This new Smithsonian Institution exhibit on submarines,
"It's kind of like a validation of my service," said Tim Beauchamp. This is because it
 includes a poem by Beauchamp, who was kicked out of the Navy for being gay.

GLAD Asks Attorney General Reject Anti-Gay Ballot Referendum.
August 23, 2001: Massachusetts.
Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders (GLAD) August. 13 filed a legal
request in Attorney General Thomas Reilly's office that seeks to reject two
anti-gay ballot initiatives that were filed August. 1 by a group that calls itself
the Massachusetts Citizens for Marriage. Article by Bay Windows.
 
 
Census Bureau's New Figures Gay Households Increase 300% Since 1990
August 21, 2001: New figures 6000,000 households shared by 1.2 Million Same-Sex Gay
and Lesibian couples. Updated TBC's report with demographics and figures released  yesterday
by the Census Bureau. August 11, 2001: The first authoritative record of gay households in the
U.S., almost a million gays and lesbians declare they are same-sex partners sharing a household.
