Florida Men Charged In Hate Crime

(November 29, Miami) Two Englewood, Florida, men have been charged with hate crime battery after a gay man was called beaten this week.
The name of the victim was not released by Police. Officers said the 20 year old man was approached by a group of people while he was using the telephone in the gas station parking lot and called him a "faggot." The victim, who knew the suspects, said two of the men then began beating him.
James Borghi, 20, and Randy R. Twombly, 20, were arrested a short while later.
Three other suspects, Richard Green III, 19, his sister Angela Green, 20, and Jennifer Motta-Guedes, 19 were charged with simple battery and mutual affray (fighting) from a second brawl that broke out minutes later.
All five were released on bail.
The victim's injuries are not life threatening police said.
