They're Glaad to be nominated . . .

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, or more commonly known as Glaad, released nominees for its 13th Annual Media Awards, to be presented in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles next April.

The Media Awards are intended to honor individuals and projects in the media and entertainment industries for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives.

The nominees in the world of television are:

Best Comedy Series: "The Ellen Show" (Ellen DeGeneres), "Sex and the City," "Some of My Best Friends," "Will & Grace."

Best Drama Series: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "The Education of Max Bickford," "ER," "Queer as Folk," "Six Feet Under."

Best Episode of a Series Without a Regular Gay Character: "Between the Wanting and the Getting" ("Judging Amy"); "Gay Divorcee" ("Family Law"); "The Men from the Boys" ("The Guardian"); "Phobia" ("Law & Order"); "Saliendo" ("Resurrection Blvd.")

Best TV Movie: "Anatomy of a Hate Crime" (MTV); "Armistead Maupin's Further Tales of the City" (Showtime); "A Glimpse of Hell" (FX); "Stranger Inside" (HBO); "What Makes a Family" (Lifetime).

Best Documentary: "5 Girls," "American High," "Scout's Honor" (PBS); "Keep the River on Your Right: A Modern Cannibal Tale" (IFC Films); "Paragraph 175 (HBO).

Best TV Journalism: "The Children Speak" ("20/20"); "The Face of AIDS" ("The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer"); "Hate in the Hallways" (MTV); "Mark Bingham" on "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel" (HBO); "The Matthew Shepard Story" (A&E's "American Justice").

Best Daily Drama: "All My Children" (ABC)
