Police Investigate Cruising Site

Police have been called in to investigate a Wirral cruising area following complaints by locals.

Surveillance cameras may be introduced at the Gun Site, a picnic area at North Wirral Coastal Park, near Wallasey Golf Club.

Warning signs have already been put in place, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Wallasey councillor and member of the Friends of the Gun Site, Lesley Rennie, said: "The Gun Site is a lovely beauty spot and should be there to be enjoyed by all the people of Wirral, not by a minority who use it for seedy activities.

Rennie continued: "Many families go down to the area and occasionally children have been confronted by shocking scenes. It would be good to get some CCTV surveillance up there. This activity needs to be stamped out for good."
