(February 26, Montgomery, Alabama) A new poll shows that Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore's condemnation of gays and lesbians is playing well with voters.
The Mobile Register-University of South Alabama poll taken after Moore delivered issued his opinion denying a lesbian mom her kids shows that nearly 70 percent of Alabamians believe sex between two men or two women is "always wrong."
The poll showed 50 percent of those questioned agreed with Moore's view that anyone who is openly homosexual is necessarily unfit to be a parent.
The same percentage also said that they agreed that homosexuality is an inherent evil. 40 percent disagreed and 10 percent either didn't know or had no answer.
On the question of gay and lesbian marriage only 19 percent of Alabamians approved. 27 percent supported the right of gay and lesbian couples to adopt children.
51 per cent of Alabamians believe Moore is doing an excellent or good job as Chief Justice. Only 31 per cent said he was not doing a good job. One out of five did not respond to that question or said they didn't know how he was doing.
