*Each leaders gave a full 2-minute Annual State-of-the-Organization
Report.
*We had a 1.5 hour professional training session on "Leadership
Self-Care and
Stress Management", by Christina Belhamy, LMHC.
*Professional leadership development training topics for 2002-2003 were
selected.
(Conflict Management, Diversity Issues and Fundraising are a few of
those topics)
Conference Highlight: Community-Wide Project Selected
After Nadine Smith and Tampa Police Office Lisa Boeving spoke to the
leaders
about the need for a local City Domestic Partnership Laws. The entire
leadership
selected this issue as the new Community-Wide Project.
Our community will work together to pass Domestic Partnership policies
first for the
city of Tampa and then in the city of St. Petersburg.
Your participation can make the difference for you, your partner,
friends, families,
coworkers and neighbors, in making Domestic Partnership Laws become a
reality
in the City of Tampa and St. Petersburg.
There are many roles
you can choose to help in this Community-Wide Project. You
can select from the following positions available:
5 Core Team Members
50 Community Leader Captains
500 Organization's
Members
5000 Community Individuals
Just imagine, the impact and results that can be achieved as 5000 community
members
contact the city council, in person, by phone, fax, email and letters. With
5000 voices all
calling upon the city's powers that be, to pass Domestic Partnerships Laws
and Polices.
The First Tampa Bay Domestic Partnership Project Meeting will be held March
18th at the
Equality Florida office- 3708 W. Swann Ave in Tampa. Please, attend as we
move toward
a fair workplace that recognizes our families.
