Aid People of the Massacred Villages in Southern Sudan

With reference to the last week's fierce operations and chases between Ugandan government forces and rebel troops from the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), which was basically supported by the Sudan extremist regime and largely made up of children from Northern Uganda who have been abducted and brainwashed, led by Joseph Kony - a fanatic who claims to have magical powers and rely on raiding and looting to survive, this search-and-destroy campaign aim at demolishing rear bases of LRA inside the Sudanese territories have resulted in killing of several hundred and displacing of a similar number of southern Sudanese civilians from their homes. The LRA insurgents raped and abducted girls and women, and burnt down ten villages.

AAFAT is seeking for the international community to exert maximum pressures on all dissenting sides to cease killing of innocent people and civilians and stop violating human rights in the jungles and swamps of southern Sudan where it is difficult to obtain pertinent and accurate information, and where it is feared that arbitrary shootouts in the remote mountains may subject more innocent people to be killed.

AAFAT is also calling upon all governmental and non-governmental organizations to provide urgent assistance and aid for these penurious people who are forced to desert their homes and villages, as many of those civil populations who are currently scattered in the bushes are totally exposed and left vulnerable to all kind of dangers and diseases.

American African Foundation Against Torture (AAFAT),  working to restore peace and democracy in African countries, to assist in rehabilitation of torture victims and to defend worldwide human rights.
