November 30: George Harrison died about 1:30 p.m. at a friend's home. His wife, Olivia,
and son, Dhani, were at his side. This News comes just days after reports surfaced that
he was in the City of Angeles and receiving chemotherapy treatment at UCLA Medical
Center. The Rumors spreading in July, said George was dying of cancer, he denied this.
In early November, rumors started circulating again, this time George and those close to

is Mayor-Elect Mike Bloomberg.

Republicans Nasty Anti-Gay Campaign Backfires Big Time.
November 11: The results of Virginia's election couldn't have turned out better. One of the most
hateful and nastiest anti-gay campaigns, Republicans, Governor and Lieutenant Governor hopefuls,
went down in defeat. Voters not only sent GOP a message that hate isn't an acceptable value for
Virginians, their choice as their next Governor, gives gay activists much reason to celebrate. Check
out TBC's Politics in the National News, for detailed coverage on the Republicans horrendous
anti-gay campaign. The comments

N.J. Upset as Democrat Jim McGreevey Wins Governorship.
November 11: N.J. Governor Elect Jim McGreevey will be the state's 51st elected governor and the
first Democrat since Jim Florio in 1989. This breaks the hold Republicans had on reigns of power
and decision making process in New Jersey. New Jersey and Virginia's newly elected Democratic
Governor's are additional cause for gays and lesbians to celebrate. But, there's a political soap opera
going on to, things are getting interesting in N.J..

Panel Passes Helms' Boy Scout Amendment, Senate Passes Boxer Amendment Same Day.
November 8: Panel rejects Boxer Amendment, passes the Helms Amendment. But, on same day,
Senate passes Boxer Amendment, which does not call for withholding federal education funds. So,
not a win for us, just a little better deal.

TBC's E-Mail Campaigm of lawmakers on the Helm's Amendment did get a few replies, this post from
Senator Bob Graham, he is on the top of my speed dial email list. Sorry Bob.
