Battle to take his
boyfriend to prom now in Judge's hands.Court told law gives him rights over church ban.

said Marc is
a bad example and influence by Catholic
church
perspective. Ruling is due in
time for Prom Friday.

Catholic high school student launches lawsuit against his principal after being
banned from attending his prom
with his
boyfriend, John Paul Dumont, 21. Marc filed an injunction in Ontario Superior
Court to lift the ban. Suzanne Scorsone, the spokeswoman for the Roman Catholic
Archdiocese, said taking a date to a prom is "exploration that will lead to a
decision about marriage," and subject to the Church's unequivocal
proscription of
homosexuality.

Fight Gay Injunction

has been asked to grant an emergency injunction against a Toronto Catholic school board
and
hear
arguments April 19. In the
meantime, Marc is to be presented with a first-ever special community award from the Gay Rights Lobby
Group, Eagle's.

10: A gay teen who has been
fighting for the right to bring his boyfriend to the school prom
next month declared today that he will take his battle to the courts. Hall's
lawyer has asked for an injunction to compel the
Durham Catholic District School Board to allow his 21-year-old boyfriend to
attend his prom.

school just kind of caved down on me".

prom date is banned from the ball.
Marc's now fighting the Catholic board's
decision, Marc said he overwhelmed by all
the support he is receiving in his fight to attend his prom with his
boyfriend. Such
as PFLAG, the Canadian
Autoworkers Union
and Ontario
Liberal Party Leader Dalton
McGuinty, all have thrown their support
behind the teenager. Supporters had disrupted a board meeting, after Marc was
not
allowed to speak. Marc's battle
for his boyfriend could take him to the courtroom before the
ballroom. He
met with legal advisors and
says, he'll go to court to force the Roman Catholic board to allow gay prom
dates at
Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary
