Salvation Army Responds to Protest
Allegations
December 16: The Salvation Army Canada
responds to boycott of them, because they refuse
to allow gays and lesbians to join, it
denounces homosexuality in its publications. In a letter
sent to 365Gay.com, they
deny these statements are
true.
Salvation Army, "Sally Anne" Protest Heads To
Canada
December 14: A similar campaign to put notes in Sally Anne
kettles denouncing anti-gay policies
in
Atlantic Canada, has been started by a Halifax doctor.

Salvation Army "Using Deceptive
Ads"
December 10: Recent fundraising letter by the Salvation Army included
was a separate card
with the bold headline: "Equality." The letter
states in part, "We at The Salvation Army, want
you, our cherished donor, to know that we are all about
equality in the work place" Salvation Army's
recent national policy mandate and
statements, claims of Workplace Equality are far
from the
truth.
Salvation Army
Picketed
December
6: The picketers demonstrating
outside the Salvation Army in L.A., did so in the name
of equal benefits.
And without any ill will,
some even hoped donations would still be made to the
Salvation Army, during this holiday season. Even the picketees',
had no ill will toward the picketers,
a few came outside offering donuts to the
picketers. Be it as it may, nice is
nice. However, equal
opportunity in receiving insurance benefits for all
employees isn't just the nice thing to do,
it's the
American Family Association, [AFA] to Buy
Back fake 5's with real Fives.
December
2: The AFA labels GLBT Salvation Army protest against
their discriminatory policy
"an untimely campaign of
anti-Christian bigotry." But, their campaign to exchange five dollar
bills
for fake ones being put in
Salvation Army Kettles by gay activists is dubbed "Redemption for the
Intolerant."
Incidentally, the price of Redemption has a $1,000. limit.
Now, keep
dropping
those fake
five, so, we use up every
penny of their buy back campaign.
"Salvation Army Gay Fight Shows
Fed Funds Costly"
The view from the Christian
Far Right, from AFA web site, on the Salvation Army, Gays an
Government
Funds
are
Costly. [As it should be, the decision to discriminate against
others should not be cheap. Z.]
Kettle Protest Goes

surprised president PFLAG Genesee
County, Michigan, Mary
Scholl recently said. Condemning the charity for its refusal to provide
benefits
to the partners of its gay
and lesbian staff, Mary started a local campaign for people to drop notices
of
protest in the Sally

Red Kettles are
collecting as many protect notes as greenbacks all across
